I
PREFACE
I
The CWCB Construction Fund is an important tool for providing low-interest loans to construct
and repair water resources infrastructure in Colorado. The fund is primarily designed to help
develop new water storage capacity and to capture lost storage through repairs and rehabilitation of
existing structures.
This year, the Colorado Water Conservation Board will seek legislative authorization to provide
spending authority totaling $17.9 million. The 1997 Construction Fund bill includes authority to
make low interest loans totaling $11.0 million to fund 17 water development projects statewide,
$2.0 million for loan account transfers, and $5.0 million in grants for 11 studies and projects. The
grants include provisions for continued CWCB funding support for computerized systems and
investigations that will enable the state to better plan and manage its water resources.
(::?e,4A-..e-
I
I
Daries C.
