•
•
•
• The largest portion of the Town of Monument's net assets (55%) reflects its investment
• in capital assets (e.g. land, buildings, infrastructure, vehicles, equipment, etc.), less any
• related debt still outstanding (current and long-term), that was used to acquire those
• assets. The Town uses these capital assets to provide services to citizens; consequently
• these assets are not available for future spending. Although the Town's investment in its
capital assets is reported net of related debt, it should be noted that the resources needed
• to repay this debt must be provided from other sources, since the capital assets
• themselves cannot be used to liquidate these liabilities. Unrestricted net assets may be
• used to meet the Town's ongoing obligations to citizens and creditors.
• A small portion of the Town of Monument's net assets (less than 1%) represents
• resources that are subject to external restriction on how they may be used. The remaining
• balance of unrestricted net assets, $3,771,349, may be used to meet the Town's ongoing
• obligations to citizens and creditors
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
• iv
•
•
•
