(WWE) is pleased to provide the La Plata Water Conservancy
District (LPWCD) with copies of the subject report. The work on the Red Mesa Aquifer was
very successful and has provided valuable information that the LPWCD can use to implement its
water management plan, as outlined in the WWE 2000 report. Once the plan is fully
implemented, the LPWCD will be able to make more efficient use of its limited water resources
and provide better mechanisms to meet Colorado's obligations to New Mexico as agreed to in
the La Plata River Compact.
Future study of the Red Mesa Aquifer data compiled during the dry conditions experienced in
2002 will help WWE further refine its findings. We look forward to continued work on this
project and a rewarding relationship with the LPWCD Board.
Very truly yours,
WRIGHT WATER ENGINEERS, INC.
By ////A(
E /A. .
