➢ Column (20) is the sum of the ditch diversions in columns (2) to (13). The ditch <br /> diversions from November 1 to March 31 are not considered because they would be out <br /> of priority for irrigation water; it is assumed that stock water could be obtained from <br /> return flow which is not accounted for in this analysis. <br /> ➢ Column(21) is the Hesperus Gage minus the sum of the ditch diversions in Column(20) <br /> ➢ Column (22) is the estimated amount that could be diverted to Red Mesa Reservoir and is <br /> determined depending upon the amounts in columns (17) to (20): <br /> ❑ if the river is on call the diversion is zero, <br /> ❑ from December 1 to February 15,the flow at the Hesperus gage is diverted, <br /> ❑ from February 15 to March 31 and the month of November, generally the <br /> Hesperus Gage flow can be diverted even though the Compact is technically in <br /> effect the river is not operated under the Compact conditions, <br /> ❑ from April 1 to October 31, the compact requirements are met except that 80 cfs <br /> is provided at the Stateline rather than 100 cfs, the historic ditch diversions in <br /> columns (2) to (13) are subtracted from the Hesperus Gage, if there is any water <br /> left after meeting these criteria it is diverted to the reservoir, <br /> ❑ the diversion to Red Mesa from the LaPlata River cannot be less than 4 cfs or <br /> greater than 120 cfs. <br /> ➢ Columns (23) to (26) are the operation of the reservoir. Column (23) is the inflow to the <br /> reservoir in acre-feet and is column(21) times 1.984. <br /> ➢ Column (24) is the release for 1,140 acres of irrigation as described above. Releases <br /> from the reservoir for irrigation begin when the Freed/Revival/Vossberg Ditches cannot <br /> divert directly from the river. If the reservoir is below 200 acre-feet of capacity, <br /> irrigation releases are stopped. <br /> ➢ Column (25) is the 330 acre-foot release for municipal, domestic, augmentation water <br /> which is 0.9 acre-feet per day. This water is never shorted. <br /> ➢ Column (26) is included for evaporation and other losses but the reduction is account for <br /> when each share is called. The water each share receives is reduced for evaporation and <br /> other losses by 10%. <br /> ➢ Column (27) is the end-of-day(E-O-D)reservoir content. <br /> ➢ Column (28) is the spill, actually not spill from the reservoir but water that would not be <br /> diverted. <br /> 14 <br />
