The
District is requesting $45,450 from the CWCB Water Efficiency Grant Program to implement a
regional residential &commercial audit program identified in the Grand Valley's Regional Water
Conservation Plan approved by CWCB in September 2012.
The City of Grand Junction will partner with two other Grand Valley water providers, Ute Water
Conservancy District&Clifton Water District to perform 100 landscape audits for residential
customers and water audits for six of the top commercial/industrial water users. The three Grand
Valley providers have estimated that each individual landscape residential audit will result in 10-15%
water savings with implemented measures through 2021. The providers also believe auditing the six
top commercial water users will result in 3-5%water savings for each of the users in the next seven
years if fully implemented.
The total cost of the project is $62,700. The three partners (Grand Junction, Ute Water&Clifton
Water)have pledged 28%matching funds in the form of in-kind services ($17,250).The OWCDP
staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal meets or
exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
