The
District is requesting$17,825 from the CWCB Water Efficiency Grant Program to conduct a Water
Loss Control audit program identified in Security's Water Conservation Plan approved by CWCB in
April 2011.
Security wishes to improve their water loss management and control procedures in their service area.
They will use the American Water Works Association Water Audit Manual #36 to conduct an audit
of their water production and meter data. Security currently estimates that its water loss is an
average of 10-14%per year. However, some monthly spikes in water loss appear to be in excess of
25%. The District would like to improve their understanding of water loss in the distribution system
and identify how these losses can be addressed and managed in the future.
The total cost of the project is $26,210. Security Water District has pledged 32%matching funds in
the form of in-kind services ($8,385). The OWCDP staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant
application and has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for
reviewing grant proposals. Attached is the internal checklist used to evaluate the application.
Attachment: Evaluation Checklist
Interstate Compact Compliance•Watershed Protection•Flood Planning&Mitigation•Stream&Lake Protection
Water Project Loans&Grants•Water Modeling•Conservation&Drought Planning•Water Supply Planning
