Scope of Work <br /> Sub-task 10B. Review Meetings <br /> Participate in 3 meetings to discuss review comments on the draft report and scope final <br /> report revisions. <br /> Sub-task 10C. Final Report <br /> Complete versions to draft report to obtain the final report. Provide 50 bound copies <br /> and one (1) camera-ready original of the final report to the River District. <br /> TASK 11 : DIVERSION STRUCTURE EVALUATION (CONTINGENT ON <br /> ADDITIONAL FUNDING) <br /> The objective of this task is to evaluate the degree to which diversion structures along <br /> the Yampa River mainstem constitute obstructions to passage of endangered fish. Desirable <br /> structural modifications will be defined to support later cost estimating, environmental <br /> assessment, and recommended mitigation activities. <br /> Sub-task 11A. Inventory and Map Diversion Structures <br /> Obtain and review records of the diversion structures located on the Yampa River <br /> mainstem below the USGS Hayden gage, including stream mile location, associated water <br /> rights, and historical diversions. Identify and review available aerial photographs which show <br /> structures. <br /> Based on diversion records, available aerial photography and mapping, and interviews <br /> with knowledgeable persons prepare a listing of all potentially obstructive diversion structures <br /> on the Yampa River mainstem below Hayden. Prepare a 1:24000 scale map of the mainstem <br /> showing locations of these structures. Obtain copies of design plans for these structures. if <br /> available. <br /> Sub-task 11B. Field Evaluation of Structures <br /> Perform aerial reconnaissance of potentially obstructive structures and select up to 10 for <br /> further evaluation. Perform field evaluation (consisting of two 1-week trips of no more than <br /> 10 potentially obstructive diversions from the list and map of Sub-task 11A. Field evaluations <br /> are to be carried out by a team comprising an hydraulic engineer and fishery biologist under <br /> Clow conditions that are representative of times when fish are likely to be moving. Pay special <br /> attention to probable characteristics under other Clow conditions and to probable impacts of <br /> maintenance activities. Obtain sufficient field data to prepare conceptual plans and cost <br /> estimates for modification of obstructive diversions. <br /> Sub-task 11C. Preliminary Environmental Analysis <br /> Using existing information and the results of previous sub-tasks. prepare a preliminary <br /> environmental assessment of the severity of obstruction of existing river diversion structures <br /> and the prospective effects of their modification. Include analysis of probable structure <br /> performance. Prepare a scope of work and schedule for preparation of an EIS for modification <br /> of diversion structures. <br /> 11 <br />
