CWCB Loan Narrative Overview 8 <br />In 2010 Two Rivers purchased 2,000 acres of previously irrigated farmland and planted 500 acres of crops in May. Two Rivers has also contracted to purchase an additional 1,000 acres of previously irrigated farm land and expects to plant 2,000 acres of irrigated farmland in 2011. Two Rivers anticipates increasing its farm operations up to 15,000 acres over the next ten years. The land available to irrigate through the HCIC System today is approximately 15,000 acres, well within the 40,000 acres stated in HCIC’s original storage water rights adjudication in 1921. Two Rivers is working with NRCS and FSA to redevelop formerly irrigated farmland utilizing today’s modern field management and irrigation technology. <br /> FIELD INVESTIGATIONS Existing data from previous field investigations was reviewed and determined suitable for this level of study. Further field investigations may be required based upon more detailed engineering analyses. Previous geotechnical investigations include those performed for the original construction of the dam and those completed in 1986 by GEI. Following is a summary of the findings contained in those reports. Prior to construction of the dam in 1909, five test holes were drilled in the canyon floor. Four holes in the 200-foot wide river channel section and one hole 35 feet above the river channel on the right abutment.
