EXHIBIT B
Scope of Work Modification
CRDSS Yampa Daily Model
Background and Purpose
Statemod code has been enhanced to accommodate daily time step simulation. The task described in
Exhibit A of the State's Daily Yampa Model contract with Boyle Engineering, dated December 20,
2000, represents the first major application of many of the daily features. The purpose of this addendum
is to provide additional peer review of modeling results. Furthermore, DMI's and databases have also
been updated recently. This addendum allows for Boyle to work with the State and RTi to encounter and
identify problems related to the new products and repeat model-building steps as required because of
product corrections or updates.
Description of tasks
The existing scope of work calls for three versions of a daily model to be developed on a relatively small
sub-basin of the Yampa River.
• Using daily node balance sheets (daily analog of the *xdd, *xre, and *xir files) Boyle will verify
daily return flows for one example diverting structure in one of the three models, using spreadsheet
or hand calculations. Any problems will be communicated quickly and informally, but in writing,to
the State so they can proceed with corrections. Estimate of time required: 8 hrs.
• Boyle will similarly check Statemod's automated disaggregation of monthly baseflow, demands, and
reservoir targets in the first daily model (monthly processes distributed uniformly across days of the
month). Problems will be communicated in writing to the State, so they can proceed with
corrections.Estimate of time required: 4 hrs.
• Boyle will check Statemod's automated disaggregation of monthly baseflow according to the pattern
of the Clark gage, in the second daily model. Problems will be communicated in writing to the State,
so they can proceed with corrections. Estimate of time required: 4 hrs
• Boyle will check Statemod's daily baseflow computations in the third model. Problems will be
communicated in writing to the State, so they can proceed with corrections. Estimate of time
required: 4 hrs.
• For all three models, Boyle will review water balance spreadsheets and compare them with the water
balance from the original monthly model. Problems will be communicated in writing to the State, so
they can proceed with corrections. Estimate of time required: 3 hrs.
• After the State has modified code in response to the first iteration of Boyle review, Boyle may be
asked to repeat the testing that originally revealed the bug, and report outcome to the State. Estimate
of time required: 9 hrs.
• Boyle will prepare a memorandum to the State documenting the review process. The memo should
indicate closure on all issues unless the State has (for reasons unforeseeable at this time) prioritized
and scheduled the work beyond the duration of this contract. Estimate of time required: 8 hrs.
D:\Projects\CRDSS\Addendumlscope.doc
