AGENCY NAME: Water Conservation Board <br /> AGENCY NUMBER: PDA <br /> ROUTING NUMBER: <br /> CONTRACT AMENDMENT #1 <br /> THIS AMENDMENT, made this 3 day of f i7-7-t 6M 1997, by and <br /> between the State of Colorado for the use and benefit of the Department of Natural Resources, <br /> Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB), hereinafter referred to as the State, and South <br /> Platte Lower River Group, Inc., c/o LSPWCD Office, 100 Broadway Plaza, Suite 12, Sterling, <br /> CO 80751, hereinafter referred to as the Grantee and/or Contractor. <br /> FACTUAL RECITALS <br /> A. Authority exists in the law, and funds have been budgeted, appropriated, and otherwise made <br /> available and a sufficient unencumbered balance thereof remains available for payment in <br /> Fund Number 424, Organization YYYY, Appropriation Code A60, GBL SPLR, Reporting <br /> Category 3735, Program WTRC, Object Code 5120, Contract Encumbrance Number <br /> C153735. <br /> B. Required approval, clearance, and coordination has been accomplished from and with <br /> appropriate agencies. <br /> C. The State and the Grantee entered into a contract dated August 15, 1996, Contract <br /> Encumbrance Number C153735, hereinafter referred to as ORIGINAL CONTRACT and <br /> incorporated herein by reference, wherein the State agreed to grant funds in the total amount <br /> of $75,000, and the Grantee agreed to conduct a study to identify augmentation projects that <br /> will benefit water user groups in the South Platte River Basin ("Project") in accordance with the <br /> terms of the ORIGINAL CONTRACT. <br /> D. In the ORIGINAL CONTRACT, the State and the Grantee agreed to allocate up to eighty percent <br /> (80%) of the grant funds to finance demonstration projects, including ground water recharge <br /> projects, with the remainder of the grant funds allocated to other Project tasks. <br /> E. As part of the Project, the Grantee has evaluated several ground water demonstration <br /> projects, three of which have been implemented. In November 1996, the Grantee applied to <br /> the State for additional grant funds to finance the ground water demonstration projects. <br /> F. At its November 25, 1996 meeting, the CWCB approved a Construction Fund grant in the <br /> amount of up to $60,000 to finance the demonstration projects proposed as part of the Project. <br /> G. Pursuant to Senate Bill 97-008, Section 10, the General Assembly authorized the CWCB to <br /> expend up to $60,000 to cooperate with the Grantee on said demonstration projects. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, the parties hereby agree that <br /> 1.
