CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT & CALL FOR PAPERS <br />#-%N' <br />WESTERN WETLANDS ♦-- <br />RPARiAN AREAS <br />PUBLIC/PRIVATE EFFORTS IN RECOVERY, MANAGEMENT & EDUCATION <br />September 9 -11, 1993 <br />Salt Lake City, Utah <br />You are invited to submit an abstract for a paper or poster to be presented at a conference focused on innovations and <br />ana, <br />success stories promoting wetlands and riparian conservation in the U.S. EPA Region VIII states (Colorado, <br />North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming). The audience will include representatives of federal, state and local <br />governments, private organizations,.landowners and developers. Topic areas are: <br />1. research, delineation and inventory efforts; <br />2. outreach /educationfinterpretative programs; <br />3. riparian/wetland management strategies; <br />4. restoration, creation and enhancement techniques; <br />5. financial and other incentives to conserve urban and rural wetlands; <br />6. protection programs: ordinances and other regulatory policies; and <br />7. effective partnerships in wetlands protection. <br />PAPERS: Presentations should be limited to 15 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for discussion. Abstracts should be <br />no more than 300 words and should state purpose, geographical focus findings, conclusions and applicability. <br />EXHIBITS, VIDEOS & POSTERS: To be displayed throughout the conference; presenters should be prepared to discuss <br />their projects informally in a special session. <br />DEADLINE for abstracts for both papers and display materials: May 14, 1993. — — _ _ _ _ _:_ <br />❑ Yes.
