Avenue. However, the amount of flow spilling in these areas is expected to be minimal, and the
velocities and depths of flow will likely be low.
The flood wave will enter Saint Vrain Creek near the Martin Street Bridge and is expected to
overtop every bridge crossing until it reaches I-25. The channel velocity in this reach generally
ranges from 2 to 10 feet per second, and depths along the main flow line can exceed 11 feet. Based
on the hydraulic modeling in this study the two main I-25 bridges and the frontage road bridge are
not expected to overtop.
As reported in the I-25 frontage road as-built plan set,the 100-year flood at this location is 17,290
cfs—significantly greater than the 3,900 cfs estimated at I-25 due to a clear-day breach of Highland
No. 2 South Dam. For this reason, the inundation mapping extent was terminated at I-25.
HIGHLAND NO.2 NORTH AND SOUTH DAMS - 8 - June 15,2012
INUNDATION MAPPING REPORT
