Example of Steep, Eroding Streambanb <br />in the project Area <br />5.2 Wetland Current Condition <br />The damaged wetland is owned by Rio Grande County and is adjacent to the McDD Diversion. <br />The wetland is connected to the river through a side channel and water elevation changes with <br />river flow. The wetland is an oval with water in the middle, riparian plants encircling the water, <br />and upland plants circling the riparian plants. This uniform topography reduces water edge, <br />limiting the quantity of habitat for riparian species. The species present are typical riparian <br />species in the region.
