Russell, P.E. <br /> Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> 1580 Logan Street, Suite 750 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Re: Platte Valley Reservoir No. 1 Project—Contract No. C150235 <br /> Dear Mr. Russell: <br /> Platte Valley Irrigation Company discussed the extension of Contract No. C150235 at its recent <br /> Board meeting. <br /> The loan was to be used for the construction of the Platte Valley Reservoir No. 1 and to add <br /> measurement and control devices on the Company's main ditch. The cost of the reservoir became cost <br /> prohibitive, so the Company looked at constructing a smaller reservoir or reservoirs. Discussions with the <br /> co-owner of the first part of the ditch concerning the relocation of the structure where the ditch splits into <br /> two ditches have also held up the project and those discussions are still continuing. <br /> The Company is still in the process of determining how it wants to proceed on the project and is <br /> investigating the various alternatives available. Because no decision has yet been made regarding the <br /> project, the Board determined that it would be best at this time to close out the contract. The Company <br /> appreciates the CWCB approving the loan and the extensions that have been granted in the past. The <br /> Company will consider applying for a new loan when the project is ready to move forward. <br /> Please provide the appropriate documents to close out the contract.
