•
Overall Project Feasibility Summary &Conclusions
The proposed project will repair the small slope failure on the down stream side of the dam. By
doing so, the storage restriction placed on the Lone Cabin Reservoir dam can be removed by
the State Engineer's Office and the reservoir can be filled to design capacity. The water storage
afforded by the Lone Cabin Reservoir is essential for irrigation of 18 farms on Lamborn Mesa,
near Paonia, and allows for finishing crops at the end of the growing season. The cost benefit
will allow the continuation for the existing agricultural livelihood of the members of the Lone
Cabin Ditch and Reservoir Company. The loan application submitted by the members of Lone
Cabin Ditch and Reservoir Company indicate the ability to repay the loan and to use the money
to continue the tradition of agriculture in the North Fork Valley.
Appendices
Appendix A: Lone Cabin Dam Final Geotechnical and Design Report (Revised 6/24/2013)
Appendix B: DWR Engineers Inspection Report
22
