Selected Alternative Petrocco Farms has chosen Alternative #2 as the desired alternative. Petrocco Farms does not feel that the other alternatives meet the goals of the project or add a level of efficiency, value, or long term water reliability, as compared to Alternative #2. Alternative # 2 meets the project goals by enabling Petrocco Farms to guarantee a more reliable water supply for more of their agriculture operation and enhance their ability to provide marketable produce at a reasonable cost. It will also provide an assurance that no municipality will be able to dry up the shares of water historically leased by Petrocco Farms at the Project Farm locations. This alternative will enhance Petrocco Farms ability to maintain their long term family owned farming operation. Project Cost The selected alternative is estimated to cost a total of $925,000 including planning, water engineering and transaction fees. The project cost estimate is shown in Table 1 above. Implementation Schedule The following schedule is proposed for implementation of the project: Task 1. Feasibility Study Submittal 2. CWCB Loan Approval 3. CWCB Contract Approval 4. Water Share Purchase Transaction 5. First CWCB Loan Payment Due Social, Economic and Physical Impacts The project will have no significant social impacts. Target Date August 1, 2013 September 25, 2013 December 24, 2013 December 26, 2013 December 26, 2014 The project will have a positive economic impact on Petrocco Farms by providing a more reliable water supply for their farms and in the long term reducing their expenses associated with leasing irrigation water. The project will have no significant physical impacts other than the shares of water purchased, and currently flowing in the ditches, will be used at different locations, thus possibly requiring some physical adjustments to be made to the ditch system. Permitting No permits are required in order to complete the project.
