A-LP Water Animas -La Plata Water Marketing Supply and Demand Study <br />Section 1 <br />Brown and Caldwell reviewed the CWCB Climate Change documents to determine the feasibility for <br />using State Water to meet long -term potential shortages resulting from possibly reduced supply due <br />to climate change. <br />Identify Legal and Water Right Issues That Could Affect the Use of State Water <br />Brown and Caldwell identified the legal and water rights issues that should be considered when using <br />State Water. <br />Implications of State Water Reverting to Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Tribes and <br />Methods to Market State Water <br />The Southern Ute Tribe and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe (collectively hereinafter referred to as the Ute <br />Tribes) have indicated a willingness to discuss the sale or lease of water back to the State or other third - <br />party entities in the event the State Water reverts to the Tribes. Brown and Caldwell worked with CWCB <br />to identify what options or steps might be taken if the water reverts. <br />Brown and Caldwell also developed a list of entities that provide funding to water providers for the <br />development of water infrastructure to assist CWCB in marketing the State Water for M &I purposes. <br />1 -4 <br />HNAL ALP Report-1 13_11_LL.Docx <br />
