0 <br />-5- <br />f. JUNCTION CREEK DIVERSION DAM AND VIPEXONE. The <br />diversion dam will be a 40 foot long concrete gravity overflow spillway <br />section with a gated sluiceway, intake structure and concrete walls to the <br />edge of the canyon. The diversion is located at a point froze whence the <br />Southwest corner of Section 31, Township 36 North, Range 9 West, N. M. P. M. , <br />bears North 51 °151 East, a distance of 2,200 feet. The Junction Creek Pipe- <br />line will be constructed of concrete pressure pipe with a capacity of 100 c. f. s <br />and will extend 2.3 miles from the diversion dam to the Animas Mountain <br />Reservoir. The source of water will be Junction Creek: and Animas River <br />water transported to Junction Creek through the Animas Diversion Canal. <br />The water will be used for municipal, industrial and miscellaneous purposes <br />in the City of Durango. <br />g. Mc DERMOTT CANAL diverts from the Animas Diversion Canal <br />to serve lands southward in Colorado and New .Mexico. This canal is approx- <br />imately 33.4 miles long having an initial capacity of about 230 c. f. s.- and a term- <br />inal capacity of about 25 c. f, s. About 55 lateral and turnout structures will <br />be constructed with built -in measuring devices. The diversion from -!he <br />Animas Diversion Canal is located at a point from whence the corner common . <br />to Sections 14, 15, 22 and 23, Township 34 North, Range II West, N. M. P. M. , <br />bears South 21 °231 West, a distance of 4620 feet. The source of water in this <br />canal is the Animas River diverted by the Animas Diversion Canal. <br />h. RED MESA CANAL diverts from the Animas Diversion Canal to <br />serve lands in the La Plata, Colorado area. It is approximately 10 miles long, <br />having an initial capacity of approximately 235 c. f. s. and a terminal capacity <br />of 20 c. f. s. About 29 laterals and turnouts will be constructed with built -in <br />measuring devices. The diversion from the Animas Diversion Canal is located _ <br />
