Q. Can you.advise the Court. when, first. work was done on this
project? A. The first work_was by M.C.Hinderliter in 1904.
Q. And who was he? A. He was an employee of the Reclamation Service
which is now known as the Bureau of-Aeclamatiob,
Q. This is the same Agency that you are now with? A. Yes.
Q. This information shows in the records of the Bureau in your
office? A. Yes, it does.
Q. Give us that date again? A. 1904.
Q. Are you able to identify the day.-and month within that time? A.
Our records at the office probably so show. I do not have the
information st this time.
Q. Since the information.is not being tendered in evidence the date
that is being claimed is December 31, 1910, the last day of the
year isn't it? A. Yes,.it is.
Q. How was the work first commenced on this project, by what type
of work is what I am asking? A. By surveys.
Q. And this is engineering work, isn't it? A. Yes, it is.
Q. Now has the work continued since that date to the present date?
A. It has progressed with due diligence. M.C.Bloodgood in 1910
conducted further surveys. R. I. Meeker -,
THE REFEREE: I knew Mr. Meeker very well.
Conducted surveys in 1924. Also Mr. C.C.Fisher conducted surveys
relating to the Animas -La Plata Project in 1924.
Q. Now then these investigations by your Bureau have continued since
the commencement of those investigations in 1910 with due diligence
to the present date and the report is now ready for submission to
Congress for authorization of the project, is that right? A. It is.
Q. Now actually, Mr. Tyner, there was dowk done on this project prior
to 1910 wasn't there, or work done that resulted in this project
that lead to this project prior to 1910 wasn't there? A. The work
by Mr. Hinderliter.in 1904 was in that catagory. The work by Mr.
