Fathead minnow measurements
ranged from 26 to 70 mm. Three FHM escaped the insertion process from trial 1. Each replicate
was injected into the discharge pipe immediately before the blue Ul to test the effectiveness of
11 the sleeve valve to eliminate FHM survival at a pressure of approximately 62 psi.
For trial 1, three FHM (39, 40, 42 mm) were found alive in the ttrainment nets and were
breathing but were motionless and not upright. A113 fish died within 24 hrs. No other trials had
any FHM survivors immediately after sleeve valve passage.
For the 10 replicates performed at the reservoir elevation of 6855 ft, 1,997 live FHM (45 mm
mean TL) were injected into the discharge pipe. Three FHM were found alive immediately after
sleeve valve passage (0.15 percent) ranging from 0 to 3 fHM survivors per trial (figure 43). No
FHM survived beyond 96 hrs (0.0 perGrt) -after sleeve valet passage (figure 44).
Immedlaw Mortality and Survival for
a gammmmmmmoms
Immediate n
TL) for
Figures 44.
