Scaphirhynchus sp. larvae on 23 May 2001, and a sturgeon chub (Macrhybopsis gelida) on 24
May 2001. Because we have not finished processing samples, no other summary statistics can be
provided.
PLAN OF WORK
We are working on processing samples, and collecting samples for the 2002 season which
began 1 May. The schedule is following the sequence of sampling used in the two previous
years. Additional 24- hour sampling will be added in late May and early June if discharge events
cause flow increases. If the opportunity arises, sturgeon and Macrhybopsis spp. larvae will be
brought back to the lab live to allow for further growth which would improve identification. If
sturgeon larvae are found in samples prior to preservation with formalin, larvae will be preserved
in ethanol for genetic analysis.
13
