RE: JANUARY MEETING REMINDER AND RELATED BACKGROUND
MATERIAL
January meetings sponsored by the Colorado Department of Natural Resources related to
development of a basin -wide Platte River endangered species program include:
1) January 18, .1995, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Room 719, Centennial Building, 1313
Sherman Street, Denver.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to review with interested parties the agenda for
the January 20, 1995 meeting with representatives from Nebraska, Wyoming, and federal
agencies. Colorado representatives will report on the status of the negotiations and ideas
which have evolved over the past several weeks, and also seek ideas concerning the
State's position on specific agenda items and the overall direction of the negotiations.
The agenda for the January meeting unfortunately has not yet been determined, so it will
be distributed at the January 18 meeting.
2) January 20, 1995, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, Sheraton Inn Denver Airport, Evans Room,
3535 Quebec Street, Denver, (303) 333 -7711.
This is the seventh meeting of Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and federal negotiators
to devise a basin -wide program that addresses the needs of central Platte River
endangered species and Platte River Basin water users. Interested parties are invited to
attend as observers. Observers will have an opportunity to make comments to the
negotiating group in the afternoon.
Enclosure: December 29, 1994 response of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to Colorado's
preliminary comments on target flows proposed for the central Platte River.
