Spawning reportedly occurs between June and August (Forbes and Richardson 1905 in
Kallemeyn 1983). Females collected in June and July in Lake Sharpe, a mainstem
Missouri River reservoir, contained mature ova and presumably were ready to spawn
(June 1981 in Kallemeyn 1983). However, sampling for young -of- the -year fish in the
reservoir from 1964 to 1975 produced no evidence of successful reproduction
( Kallemeyn 1983).
