A form should be filled out for every location at which a crane group is sighted. Location Loa Use this form to document the location and duration of use at each location while a crane group is in the study area. One from per crane group. Activity Log Use this form to record crane activity at each location. One from per crane group. Aerial Survey Loa - Use this form to document the search effort for cranes through the aerial survey. Every flight should be documented. If cranes are sighted on the aerial survey, the location log should be started. CRANE GROUP ID The crane group ID is a sequential numbering of cranes that are observed in the study area in a year, with an A for Spring and B for Fall migration. The ID of the first crane group in Spring of 2001 will be 2001A -01, the second 2001A -02, etc. LOCATION ID The location ID will be a alphabetic ordering of locations for each crane group, with the crane group ID preceeding it. The first location at which the crane group 2001A -01 is observed will be 2001A -01a and the second location will be 2001A -01b.
