Introduction
This report summarizes the project and findings of the Denver Basin Aquifer Recharge
Demonstration Project. Detailed information can be found in the final report, available

The project is one of 13 demonstration projects implemented by the Bureau of
Reclamation and local sponsors in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) under the High Plains States Groundwater
Demonstration Program Act of 1983, Public Law 98 -434 (the Act). The primary purpose
of the Act is to advance state -of- the -art groundwater recharge techniques.
Participants
The Willows Water District (Willows) and Denver Water are local project sponsors, and
cooperating Federal agencies include EPA, USGS, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The Colorado State Engineer's Office (SEO) was also a participant in this project.
