In general, average annual <br />pretipttatiorr4n6reetes from el5but 10 inches' in the western baein oto <br />ab ..3 JAWMB -ia the eastern Tart of the basin. The high mountains of <br />Colorado and Wyoming are exceptions as precipitation in these areas <br />averages as much as 40 inches mostly in the form of snowfall. The <br />plains portion of the basin receives precipitation in the form of <br />snowfall in the winter and shower and thunderstorms in the spring and <br />summer. The basin experiences many weather extremes. <br />c. Previous Investigations <br />Platte River Basin studies include basin wide studies, project <br />development studies special project studies, special reports, and the <br />Platte River Management Joint Study. Fish and Wildlife. <br />Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and Bureau of Reclamation. <br />Reclamation Project Planning Reports and Design and Construction Reports <br />are available for the North Platte Project, Kendrick Project, Kortes <br />Unit, Glendo Unit, Colorado -Big Thompson Project,-Prairie Bend Unit, and. <br />NalR- Vxi#. Some of these reports include Environmental Statements <br />with Endangered Species biological assessments and Fish and Wildlife <br />Coordination Act reports. Special Project Reports, such as Small Loans <br />and Rehabilitation and Betterment Programs, are available for Central <br />Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District E -65, Elwood Reservoir <br />Project, and the North Platte Project.
