evaluate the affect positive or negative on other Fish and
Wildlife resources.
The general report outline for the stage one report is shown in Table 1.
It is anticipated that the stage two evaluation and report of the South
Platte River operations will follow a similar format.
b. Documentation of Hydrology Models and Habitat Models
D ter data and inforinati , w114. -& &nel%ded in supporting
documents. The supporting documents for the study will include I;s'
g4#jiw for the hydrologic models and habitat models. The 19000MA , nd
h°' oodels to be developed for the Platte River basin will include a
*North Platte River, South Platte River, and Platte River
operations model, "t1 rations models for select segments of tie
Pl in, a set sport model for the Platte River, and
species habitat models.
V. Existing Data and Proposed Data Acquisition
a. Data Requirements
Hrc1i1 ersd 'biological data requirements for this evaluation are
discussed below. The hydrological data requirements are hi •;QW
records (monthly and daily), historic i de (monthly and
daily), cdAWIkkc data (precipitation, temperature, and evaporation),
la*&-mme data, r e1 data, and m , me data. -Other data
required to do a hydrological analysis is physical data of river strut
tures; dams, reservoirs, diversion dams, multiple channel flows, and
power plant size.
The b3 t erequirements are species' use information of the.
habitats they use. The habitats used include ins- oakanA ..end out-of-"
chaMfi4'.1i4Y*,r ne dreas along the South Platte, North Platte, and Platte
Rivers. The physical parameters relating to the quantity and quality of
species habitat in the Central Platte have been defined by species
workshops and published research. Chapter 3 of the Platte River
Management Joint Study Biology Work Group final report discusses these
references and the species habitat use. Additionally,'every reasonable
effort will be made to locate and acquire other pertinent information.
b. collection and Analysis of Data
Hydrologists and technicians will assemble and analyze the flow_.records,
past operation, and climatological data to develop a water supply
operation study of the Platte River basin. Assembling the data will
require an extensive work effort as raw data exists in many locations.
Entities possessing data are State natural resource agencies and
Universities, Federal agencies (Corps of Engineers, Bureau of
0 8
