(continued from page 11) of locating.I must admit that I was a little unsure of this method until I had the chance to use it.The more I use this method, the more positive the results. An example, I had a request to find main lines for a town when a company was laying fiber optic,they needed to know line loca- tion and depth-These lines were 12 inch Asbestos and Concrete,6 inch PVC and were untraced. I was able, by using the rod method, to stake location and depth. They made it through these areas without hitting any of these Iines.This is just one of many positive results I have had over the years of using this method. Dowsing has been around for more than one hundred years and is still in use today. If you are a small system that has the need of finding your water lines, but can't afford any electronic equipment or hiring it done, maybe this inexpensive method of locating can be a good alternative. I have to use this method much more than any other method because the majority of the small systems in the state have untraced PVC lines.
