"Developing a Delta Vision: <br />How to Connect the Dots" is sponsored by the University of the Pacific, Natural <br />Resources Institute; Water Education Foundation; Delta Protection Commission <br />and California Department of Water Resources. <br />Moderators will encourage panel debates among knowledgeable speakers on <br />all sides of these important issues. Audience members will be invited to join <br />facilitated break -out sessions designed to reflect the ways dialog can continue, and <br />their recommendations will be forwarded to the Delta vision planning processes. <br />Registration is $295, and includes lunch both days, a hosted reception June 6 <br />and background materials. Tour stops include <br />the Delta Cross Channel, Delta islands and levees, the federal <br />pumping plant at Tracy, Los Vaqueros Reservoir, a state -of- the -art <br />water treatment facility, the Bay -Delta Model in Sausalito and Suisun <br />Marsh. Speakers from a wide variety of viewpoints will address water <br />project operations, levees and flood management, Delta farming, <br />drinking water, the Delta vision processes, water quality and the <br />ecosystem. <br />Delta tour sign -ups are underway. This <br />briefing is designed for lawyers, water managers, government officials, business <br />executives, public interest groups and others interested in key water issues. This <br />activity has been approved by the State Bar of California and attorneys who <br />attend both days will receive 10 hours of MCLE credit. <br />Registration for the day- and -a -half event is $350 for Foundation major <br />contributors, $400 for non - contributors and $275 for July 21 only. Late (after July <br />10) and on -site registration is $425.
