Mike Purcell
WY Water Development Commission
What has been the historic ability of North Platte River to fill Pathfinder Reservoir?
Does the reservoir regularly fill? If not, why is it planned for enlargement?
Will the water flows from the three state accounts add any "new" water to the system, or
will the program rely on new timing of releases to meet the target flows downstream of
Lake McConaughy? If the target flows are met in any given year, exactly what happens
to water in storage that is allocated to the program? In fact, is any water actually
allocated to the program, or is it all a matter of timing?
How long did it take for sediment to reach the current level, has it ever been dredged, and
what is the life expectancy of this increased storage before it is lost to sedimentation?
When will another modification be necessary to accommodate silt accumulation?
For what specific uses will the Wyoming account be used? Who will receive this water,
and will any of it be used for irrigation?
Where is the Water that is unable to be stored by Pathfinder Dam going now, and who is
using it if it is not making its way to pathfinder dam? Where does the historic right to
this water exist? Will the expansion of Pathfinder take water away from anyone currently
using it?
Will there be any federal costs associated with the modification of Pathfinder Dam?
