Annual Operations
Operating Committee
SPWRAP has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Colorado Department
of Natural Resources for implementation and operation of the Colorado portion of the
Platte Program. This MOA outlines the partnership arrangement between Colorado and
its water users that will be followed to meet the obligations required of Colorado in the
Platte Program. An Operating Committee has been formed that includes members of
both parties and which is tasked with developing recommendations for various Program
implementation issues, including:
• Development of a Water Projects Plan to meet Colorado's water
commitments
• Assuring that Colorado's financial obligations are met
• Assigning persons to fill the Program's committee membership
slots where needed
• Providing the informational reporting, water accounting, and
membership information required under the Program
This committee has already provided the accounting information needed at the beginning
of the Platte Program and has identified persons to fill Colorado's roles in the Program.
The committee will be working further on the issues outlined above during 2008, and
additional information and applicable timelines will be available as the year progresses.
