<br />Climate Science in Support of Decision Making. Organ-
<br />izer: U.S. Climate Change Science Program (CCSP). Ar-
<br />lington, Virginia: November 14-16, 2005. This work-
<br />shop will examine the capability of climate science to
<br />inform decision making. Serving as a forum to address the
<br />program's progress and future plans, it will include dis-
<br />cussion of decision -maker needs for scientific information
<br />on climate variability and change as well as expected out-
<br />comes of CCSP's research and assessment activities that
<br />are necessary for sound resource management, adaptive

<br />Survive 16th Annual Business Continuity Conference.

<br />continuity conference will inform participants about the
<br />recent work of the UK, European, and world governments
<br />to ensure preparedness for and resilience to disasters.

<br />International Workshop on Strengthening the Resil-
<br />ience of Local Communities in Coastal Areas to Water
<br />Related Natural Disasters, Organizers: Ministry of For-
<br />eign Affairs of Denmark and International Strategy for
<br />Disaster Reduction (ISDR). Copenhagen, Denmark: No-
<br />vember 16 -18, 2005. Denmark is hosting this interna-
<br />tional workshop in collaboration with a number of interna-
<br />tional and regional partner organizations in the ISDR. The
<br />purpose of the workshop is to promote dialogue between
<br />governments, decision makers, and actors in local com-
<br />munities in the six countries affected by the 2004 Indian
<br />Ocean Tsunami. The workshop will contribute to
<br />strengthening community disaster reduction in public pol-
<br />icy and link coastal zone management and livelihood de-

<br />cane Katrina. The themes of the meeting have shifted to
