OTHER IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS <br />Council Staff and Membership Changes/News <br />Arizona <br />Governor Janet Napolitano appointed Joan Card, Director of the Water Quality Division, as <br />an alternate member replacing Karen Smith. <br />Colorado <br />Steve Gunderson was named as the Director, Water Quality Control Division, replacing Mark <br />Pifher, and thus listed as an alternate member of the Council by virtue of that appointment. <br />Montana <br />Susan Cottingham, Program Manager, Reserved Water Rights Compact Commission, was <br />named by Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer as a new WSWC representative. Also, named as <br />new alternate members were Tim Hall, Co -Lead Counsel for the Montana Department of Natural <br />Resources and Conservation, and Mike Volesky, the Governor's Natural Resources Policy Advisor. <br />Nebraska <br />Governor Dave Heineman, appointed Ann Salomon Bleed to the Council replacing Roger <br />Patterson, former Director of the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources. <br />David Vogler left the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources to take a position as <br />Hearings Officer with the Montana Department of Natural Resources & Conservation, Water <br />Resources Division. <br />Oregon <br />Lauri Aunan was appointed Administrator, Water Quality Division, replacing Holly <br />Schroeder and added to Council membership by virtue of that appointment. <br />WvominQ <br />Hugh McFadden, Assistant Attorney General, was appointed by Governor Dave Freudenthal <br />as a member of the Council replacing Jennifer Golden. Governor Freudenthal also selected <br />Administrator, John Wagner to serve as a full delegate replacing Gary Beach. <br />Washington <br />Governor Christine O. Gregoire appointed Jay Manning, Director of the Washington State <br />Department of Ecology, as a member of the Council replacing Linda Hoffinan. Ken Slattery, <br />Program Manager was also appointed as a full representative to the Council replacing Joe Stohr, who <br />was designated as a alternate member. <br />33 <br />
