CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE COST ESTIMATE
1. Bill number: S. 1819. JULY 22, 1986
2. Bill title: A bill to amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to
designate certain segments of the Cache la Poudre River and the
South Fork of the Cache la Poudre River in Colorado as component
of the National Wild and Scenic River System.
3. Bill status: As ordered reported by the Senate Committee on
Energy and Natural Resources, July 16, 1986.
4. Bill purpose: S. 1819 would designate certain segments of the
Cache la Poudre River as components of the National Wild and
Scenic River System and authorize grants and technical assistance
to the City of Fort Collins, Colorado for a study of a possible na-
tional recreation area in the proposed wild and scenic river area.
The bill authorizes the appropriation of $500,000 for development,
$2,500,000 for land acquisition, and $150,000 for the study.
5. Estimated cost to the Federal Government: The estimated cost
of designating segments of the Cache la Poudre River as compo-
nents of the National Wild and Scenic River System and perform-
ing the proposed study are summarized in the following table:
