Boulder White Rock Ditch & Reservoir Company
PANAMA RESERVOIR OUTLET PROJECT
Project Description
The Boulder White Rock Ditch and Reservoir Company delivers irrigation water to land in Boulder and
Weld Counties. It diverts water from Boulder Creek in downtown Boulder through the Boulder White
Rock Ditch and stores water in two of its facilities: Six Mile Reservoir and Panama Reservoir. Due to recent
operational changes, the Company no longer exchanges water with nearby ditches and needed to improve
the flexibility in its own system to meets its shareholder's needs. The Company built a pump station at the
Panama Reservoir outlet in order to use water stored in the reservoir that was inaccessible through the
existing gravity outlet.
Project Data
Sponsor: Boulder White Rock Ditch & County: Boulder/Weld Water Source: Boulder Creek
Reservoir Company
Terms of Loan: $2,549,689.90 for 30 years @ 3.45% Substantial Completion: January 1, 2012
Design Engineer: NRCS, Longmont and URS, Inc., Denver
Contractor: Krische Construction, Inc, Longmont
Project Elements: 32ft x 25ft Building, three 150UP vertical turbine pumps, 33ft deep wet well, 40001f of
PVC pipe, riprap and fill material around access road.
