COLORADO <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />May 21, 1987 <br />353.6123 <br />Coif oZ q� <br />SFR`�l�o �q <br />tieoFR <br />Attn: Mr. Nick Ioannides, P.E.,Chief of Planning and Cons ction <br />Re: Engineering Feasibility Study - Rehabilitation of Barnes Meadow <br />Reservoir Dam <br />Gentlemen: <br />On March 30, 1987, the City of Greeley Water and Sewer Department <br />submitted an application requesting 50% funding from the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board (CWCB) Construction Fund to conduct an <br />engineering feasibility study for the rehabilitation of Barnes Meadow <br />Reservoir Dam. <br />The City of Greeley, has selected the firm of Morrison- Knudsen <br />Engineers, Inc. to perform this enginee g feasibility study. The <br />proposed cost of the study is $45,366 ay 15, 1987, the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board authorized s t e allocated from the <br />CWCB Construction Fund to fund 50% st ts. As a result of <br />this authorization, the cost of t ea y study will be paid <br />equally by the CWCB and the City o . Gr The CWCB's authorized <br />funding for this study shall be cons'de d a part of this project's <br />total cost and shall be repaid to „struction Fund in full with <br />interest (5; per annum) if the prol is found to be feasible and if <br />subsequently built with CWCB Const "'uction Fund monies, or if built <br />within ten (10) years with other monies. <br />This letter confirms the City of Greeley's ability and intent tom <br />provide funding for 50% of the cost of this engineering feasibility <br />study, an expenditure of $22,683. These monies have been budgeted and <br />are available for this project. <br />A copy of the proposed contract between the City of Greeley and <br />Morrison - Knudsen Engineers, Inc. (MKE) is enclosed as Attachment A. <br />T«is contract, submitted for your review and acceptance is very <br />similar to the contract accepted by your organization and executed in <br />1986 by the City of Greeley and MKE for the feasibility studies on <br />Comanche, Peterson Lake, and Twin Lakes Dams. <br />In conversations with Mr. Ioannides on May 15, 1987, Mr. Eric <br />Wilkinson of my staff learned that a legal opinion, similar to that <br />EXHIBIT B <br />(Feasibility Report Contract) <br />
