r <br /> 1 <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> COLORADO WATER EDUCATION TASK FORCE <br /> Goal I. Plan for Success: The planning committee will meet to confer on the scope of <br /> work and initiate the first components of the project. This committee will be comprised <br /> of a small group of water education professionals including Veva McCaig, Reagan <br /> Waskom, Wendy Hanophy, Jacob Bornstein, Jo Scarbeary, Doug Kemper, Rob Buirgy, <br /> Ali Sweeney, Dan McAuliffe, Diane Hoppe (or Matt Cook or Justice Greg Hobbs). <br /> The goal of the planning meeting is to plan for a successful survey and a productive <br /> series of task force and focus group meetings. During this meeting we will accomplish <br /> the following: <br /> A. Finalize survey format and questions. <br /> B. Develop the basic structure of the focus groups (e.g. Youth, formal and informal; <br /> adult, general public; stakeholder education, such as higher education, legislature, <br /> roundtables, leadership courses, local and state government, conferences, <br /> mentoring programs, etc.). <br /> C. Generate a list of groups and individuals to participate in the survey,task force, <br /> and focus groups. <br /> D. Assign responsibilities for contacting participants. <br /> During the project process, members of the planning committee will finalize the lists of <br /> participants, conduct the survey and plan the first Water Education Task Force meeting. <br /> Goal II. Current Status of Colorado Water Education: The task force will generate a <br /> report detailing the current status of water education available in Colorado. Members of <br /> the planning committee will manage the production of this report by compiling survey <br /> results and drafting the report for review and comment by the task force. <br /> Goal III. Water Education Focus Groups: Three focus groups will convene to <br /> accomplish the following tasks: <br /> A. Review the `State of Water Education' report for accuracy and completeness. <br /> B. Evaluate the effectiveness of current water education relative to their specific <br /> audience. <br /> C. Produce meeting summaries describing the most effective aspects of current <br /> programs, outlining beneficial changes or extensions, and identifying the <br /> resources necessary to optimize water education for their audience. <br /> WETF Scope_final.doc <br />
