This program has provided the CWCB with such critical functions as: <br /> 1. Retaining State's primacy of over water resources prusuant to the McCarren Amendment. <br /> Proposed changes to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Reform Act of 1982. <br /> 2. Technical Assistance to small water providers—water conservation planning requirements as mandated <br /> by the CWCB statute. <br /> 3. Non-biased water information/education as mandated by the DNR education statute,the DNR Long <br /> Range Plan and the Board's Long Range Plan. <br /> The Office of Water Conservation has: <br /> ❖ Fulfilled its statutory requirements (status paper attached) <br /> ❖ Future opportunities include: <br /> • Safe Water Drinking Act—providing the state's guidance to EPA and their requirement for <br /> water conservation plans <br /> • Agricultural/Multipurpose grant program <br /> • Planning requirement for loans and technical assistance provided <br /> I would like to present the Board with alternatives to consider. <br /> A. Do you want to develop legislative re-authorization this year? <br /> *This year: <br /> ❖ The historical knowledge within the current legislature provides support for this <br /> legislation. <br />
