PISGAH RESERVOIR AND DITCH COMPANY
P.O. BOX 352
ROCKY FORD, CO 81067
July 30, 2012
Colorado Water Conservation Board
Finance Section
Attn: Anna Mauss, P.E.
1580 Logan Street, Suite 600
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Feasibility Study and Loan Application for Mount Pisgah Dam /Wrights Reservoir Outlet Works
Rehabilitation
Dear Ms. Mauss,
In June of 2011, a dam safety inspection of Wrights Reservoir was made by the State Engineer's Office.
Certain requirements were made of the Pisgah Reservoir and Ditch Company, in order to improve the
condition and extend the useful life of the structure. These improvements are required of the Company
on order to prevent restrictions from being placed on the structure.
The attached feasibility concludes that the best way to meet SEO requirements is to remove existing
downstream control valves and install a new upstream control valve on the existing outlet works intake
structure located near the upstream toe of the dam.
The Pisgah Reservoir and Ditch Company is asking for financial assistance from the Colorado Water
Conservation Board to help fund this project. The Company is also seeking WSRA grant funding, and will
provide a $40,000 cash match as well.
Transmitted herewith is a loan Application and Feasibility Study which provides information about the
proposed project and the Pisgah Reservoir and Ditch Company. Questions may be directed to myself, or
to Elise Bergsten of Balanced Management Services Company, at (719) 963 -1809.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Wayne Whittaker
Pisgah Reservoir and Ditch Company
(719) 254 -3389
