These documents support our request for a loan in
the amount of $1,308,630 for rehabilitation of the Fort
Morgan Canal river diversion structure.
FMRICo is undertaking rehabilitation of the diversion to
ensure that it can continue to divert water from the South
Platte River. The river diversion structure has lost its
effectiveness due to the large amount of sand that has
accumulated upstream from the diversion. There is also a
problem with debris, mainly trees, hanging up on the
structure causing continual maintenance issues.
There are approximately 15,000 acres served by FMRICo. The
Company has average annual diversions of 74,890 acre feet,
primarily used for agricultural irrigation. This project
will have a long term positive impact by assuring continued
diversions into FMRICo system.
We are hopeful that the CWCB will give favorable
consideration to our request for a loan in the amount of
$1,308,630.
