Skotek of La Junta has gathered about 200 <br />signatures on a petition opposing the trade, which he plans <br />I VQUE5T <br />to submit to the state's Department of Natural Resources. <br />The trade would involve the Colorado Division of Wildlife <br />-5 <br />swapping the Lake Meredith State Wildlife Area to Aurora <br />for land the city owns along the Arkansas River. <br />The trade, which has not been formally proposed yet, is part <br />a1ttttlit` <br />of a plan by Crowley County officials to develop Meredith <br />and Lake Henry into recreation areas that will attract <br />�e <br />Front -Range boaters, jet- skiers and water - skiers. <br />+IMF, <br />County commissioners leased Meredith's recreation rights`r <br />this year and plan to charge admission to the lakes while <br />developing them with better restrooms, camp sites and a <br />trail system.Ez <br />";fie <br />lip <br />Pi it Knot orr,+eec nn I nlee Unmrlith oluinve hoe Keen free <br />of 3 5/5/00 4:04 PM <br />
