Existing Water Right Information
Staff has analyzed the water rights tabulation and contacted the Division Engineer Office (DEO) to
identify any potential water availability problems. There are no decreed surface diversions within
this reach of stream. Staff has determined that water is available for appropriation on South Fork
Slater Creek, between the headwaters and the confluence with West Prong South Fork Slater Creek,
to preserve the natural environment to a reasonable degree without limiting or foreclosing the
exercise of valid existing water rights.
CWCB Staff's Instream Flow Recommendation
Staff recommends the Board form its intent to appropriate on the following stream reach:
Segment: Headwaters to the Confluence with West Prong SF Slater Creek
Upper Terminus: HEADWTARES IN THE VICINITY OF
(Latitude 40° 46' 22.25 "N) (Longitude 107° 19' 7.02 "W)
UTM North: 4516127.99 UTM North: 304324.96
SE SE S36 TI ON R89W 6' PM
1013' West of the East Section Line; 215' North of the South Section Line
Lower Terminus: CONFLUENCE WITH WEST PRONG SOUTH FORK SLATER CREEK
(Latitude 40° 49'36.96 "N) (Longitude 1070 17'46.86"W)
UTM North: 4522082.96 UTM North: 306361.60
SW NW S17 T10N R88W 6' PM
150' East of the West Section Line; 2610' South of the North Section Line .
Watershed: Little Snake (HUC #: 14050003)
Counties: Routt
Length: 4.55 miles
USGS Quad: Buck Point
Flow Recommendation: 4.1 cfs (April 1 — June 30)
1.25 cfs (July 1 — July 31)
0.65 cfs (August 1 — September 15)
1.25 cfs (September 16 — March 31)
-7-
