The Town is requesting$14,058 to give away Residential Water Audit
Kits to Windsor residents. Residential customers are the highest water users in the service area of the
Town. The Town believes targeting these users will have a greater impact on the overall water savings
goal identified in their Water Conservation Plan.
The Town projects that the water audit kits could save as much as 115 AF by 2017 assuming 20%of
residential customers are using the kits. Included in the kits are the following:
- Spray Nozzles for outdoor yards
-Aerators for kitchens and bathroom sinks
-High Efficient Showerheads
-Garden/Yard Moisture Meters
-Leak Detection Tablets
Town staff will be able to monitor customers' water usage over a 15 month period to track any savings
and evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
The District has pledged 25%matching funds in the form of cash($2,892)and$1,794 of in-kind services.
The OWCDP staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal
meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
