The fast - growing
city views a larger Lake Pueblo as a way to keep
pace with its increasing water needs.
The Pueblo County commissioners and the cities
of Canon City and Florence also support the
project, Hefley's office said. The Southern
Colorado lobbying coalition, Action 22, also
backs the project, he said.
The same measure would also allow for an
expansion of Turquoise Reservoir.
If approved, the Lake Pueblo expansion would
come first, possibly by 2013, according to the
Hefley bill. The expansion of Turquoise Reservoir
would come by 2025, according to the measure.
HE -mail this story to a friend
Print this story
Nextâ–º
http://www.chieftain-com/friday/news/index/article/15
47
lfIktr.r T"16(,1,t1
Blfae Shies Inn
A -Sed i Rreakfast
C IEFTAIN.co Win a 25 Gift certificate
Fury for aril; with Black Cold
Giveaway! t alto Doti ;Rini
2 of 3 5/4/01 1:53 PM
