The bill was approved by the state Legislature in April. <br />Bill Long, a businessman active in the Bent County Development Foundation, said then that the new <br />prison may employ as many as 285 full -time staffers when it reaches full capacity in June 2002. <br />Kester reviewed the history of the fort.
