this is the last issue of River Report written our Colorado
River Writer, Josh Newcom. After five years of coordinating, our work
covering issues related to the Colorado River, josh is taking a break
from journalism. He and his new wife, Jill, are taking of on a great
adventure to travel around South America for one year. Of course, the
rivers and water projects will be among the first places he'll visit since
water is now in his blood.
josh joined the Foundation in February 1998, shortly after we
established the Colorado River Project.; That was at a time when the
Colorado River's `old hands" thought we needed lots more education
before we started to write and communicate about these issues.. Well,
Josh certainly got that education by fire and has produced some
remarkable informational pieces. I especially enjoyed this piece that
relates his experiences while rafting down the Colorado River.
We'll miss his dedication to our work. Fortunately, we still have on
board our Program Director and Chief Writer, Sue McClurg, to
oversee our Colorado River Project work. So our work with River
Report, Colorado River Symposia, school education programs, tours
and television programs to help bring resolution to Colorado River
issues goes on. We will miss having Josh on our team, and we wish
him the best in his life's journeys.
Colorado River Project Advisory Committee
Hamlet "Chips" Barry, Denver Water
Wayne Cook, Upper Colorado River Commission
Thomas Graff, Environmental Defense
Herb Guenther, Arizona Department of Water Resources
Gary Hansen, Colorado River Indian Tribes
J.
