Box 60340 <br />2764 Compass Drive <br />Grand Junction, Colorado 81506 -8758 <br />Interested Parties <br />Subject: Final Environmental <br />Significant Impact <br />- Passageway Around <br />Interim Agreement t <br />JUL 01 1995 <br />RECEIVED <br />JUL 1 2 1995 <br />Colorado Water <br />Consemgan Board <br />Assessment (EA) and Finding of No <br />( FONSI): Gunnison River Activities - <br />the Redlands Diversion Dam and <br />o Provide Water for Endangered Fish <br />Enclosed for your information is a copy of the FONSI on Gunnison <br />River activities to assist in the recovery of endangered fish. <br />The report covers construction and operation of a fish passageway <br />around the Redlands Diversion Dam and an interim water agreement <br />to provide water from Blue Mesa Reservoir to operate the <br />passageway and provide flows in the lower Gunnison River. <br />A final EA has been prepared based on public and agency comments <br />received on the draft EA which was released in February 1995. <br />The final recommended plan has been developed to address local <br />concerns while still meeting project purposes of protecting <br />endangered fish species. It is intended that these enclosures <br />represent full compliance under the National Environmental Policy <br />Act. A copy of the final EA is also enclosed for those who <br />commented on the draft EA in writing or at the February 1995 <br />public meetings. <br />Questions on the EA or FONSI should be referred to Jone Wright at <br />the Bureau of Reclamation's_ office in Grand Junction, Colorado at <br />(970) 248 -0636.
