Washington, D.C. <br />Water Policy Roundtable <br />Both the Interstate Council on Water Policy <br />(ICWP) and the Western States Water Council <br />(WSWC) have a tradition of hosting forums in <br />Washington, D.C. to discuss water issues. On <br />March 20 -22, 1996, these 2 organizations will be <br />joining forces to sponsora WaterPolicy Roundtable <br />devoted to issues of common interest. In addition, <br />meetings to discuss topics of special concern to <br />each organization's members will be held. <br />How do we set priorities in a time of diminish- <br />ing resources? What are the prospects for the <br />Clean Water Act? What should the policy be <br />regarding transfers of federal water projects? How <br />will the changing federal role affect river basin <br />commissions and U.S. Geological Survey pro- <br />grams? What does the future hold for western <br />water policy? In addition to exploring these and <br />other issues, ICWP will host a special event at the <br />National Press Club to discuss the National Water <br />Policy Charter. <br />There's always something new to learn and <br />opportunities to share your views. Please plan to <br />join us! <br />HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: <br />(Deadline: February 20) <br />Please make your reservations with the <br />hotel as soon as possible. Room avail- <br />ability cannot be guaranteed after <br />February 20, 1996. <br />Call the Washington Court Hotel at <br />(202) 628 -2100 or 1- 800 -321 -3010 and <br />refer to Water Policy Roundtable <br />when making your reservation. The room <br />rate is $149.00, plus tax, for either a single <br />or double room. <br />ROUNDTABLE REGISTRATION: <br />Registration materials and a preliminary <br />program will be mailed within the next <br />few weeks. Advance registration fees will <br />include: <br />ICWP and WSWC Members $80 <br />Non - Members $110 <br />National Press Club Event $30 <br />(Registration fees for Congressional staff <br />and media will be waived.
