Requested FY 1997 Congressional action items <br />(Summarized version) <br />Recovery Program participants would like to make the following requests from Congress (details <br />on each item are provided on following pages): <br />Fish and Wildlife Service budget <br />1. Support Fish and Wildlife Service funding for the Recovery Program. <br />($624,000 requested in "Recovery" funds) <br />2. Earmark Fish and Wildlife Service Section 6 funds.) p� <br />($200,000 requested for "Grants to States ") <br />3. Support Fish and Wildlife Service funds for operation and maintenance of the Ouray <br />Endangered Fish Facility. <br />($250,000 requested in "Fish Hatchery Operation and Maintenance. ") <br />Bureau of Reclamation budget <br />4. Support Bureau of Reclamation funds for the Recovery Program. <br />($7.468 million requested in "Construction Program" funds) <br />Now endangered, Colorado squawfish once were a prized sport-fish <br />and commonly were used as food, especially during the Depression. <br />Here, Billie Ruple Wintermann shows a Colorado squawfish she <br />caught in Island Park around 1930. <br />1 <br />
