Offset account at JMR for well augmentation approved by ARCA and US Army Corps Ate' <br />3/17/97, crediting stipulation approved by Special Master 4/4/97; see attached sheet for V . r;,� I <br />overview. LAWMA has deposited 500 AF in account for this season, more will be deposite P <br />after likelihood of JMR spill decreases as runoff conditions develop. �' �` k <br />B. Also working on �at W , � P <br />1. Annual reports for 1994, 1995, & 1996. S, •� <br />2. Proposed housekeeping revisions to 1980 Operating Plan and ARCA bylaws. <br />3. Scoping for USGS study of transit losses /travel times below JMR. <br />4. Water quality background information collection/review re potential stateline salinity 1 ro t,a <br />issues. <br />5. Confer with Construction Fund Section on LAWMA loan issues. <br />6. Work with CWCB director on new /re- appointments of Colorado representatives, current <br />terms for Genova and Rogers expire 8/97, Genova not seeking re- appointment. <br />2. TRINIDAD RESERVOIR/PROJECT <br />A. Waiting for USBR to determine process to be used for approving and adopting proposed <br />amended Operating Principles for project. <br />B. Have ARCA approval of resolution to allow increased storage of non - native water in <br />enlarged recreation pool. DPODR is awaiting favorable hydrologic conditions to exchange water <br />to Trinidad. <br />3. SECWCD NEEDS ASSESSMENT <br />A. Consultant selection process completed, board to ratify recommendation. <br />B. Some legal issues remain to be resolved on SECWCD -CWCB funding contract. <br />C. Steve Arveschoug will update the CWCB during Tuesday's tour. <br />4. CHANNEL CAPACITY STUDIES <br />A. Larry Lang and Mark Matulik are leads, study below JMR underway and aerial photos <br />ecompleted. Reach above JMR will not begin until fall 97. Involves USACE and USGS. <br />Additional funding approved by General Assembly in 97 Construction fund Bill. <br />5. USDA/NRCS PROGRAMS <br />A. Limestone /Graveyard Creeks PL -566 Project for irrigation improvements and management <br />under approx. 1/3 of the Ft. Lyon Canal. Will be working with NRCS and local sponsors as <br />project gets funded and implemented to avert any potential Compact issues. <br />B. Highland Breaks PL -566 Project for irrigation improvements and management near Rocky <br />Ford. Will work with NRCS and local sponsors during project planning to avert any potential <br />Compact issues. <br />C. Arkansas Basin Technical Group: will attend meetings to advise on Compact issues, follow <br />modeling efforts, and promote improved water management as opportunities arise. <br />CASRMILLER\BOARDMEW 97BASIN.
